Chiropractic and Golf

Chiropractic and golf go hand in hand with each other. Many professional and amateur golfers use chiropractic care to help manage injuries, prevent injuries, and even improve their game. Pros Jordan Speith and Zach Johnson often reference how chiropractic treatment has helped their game. Golf is an activity that requires correct biomechanics for everything to go well. For example if something is wrong with your swing, you could pretty easily get injured. While golf does seem like a casual sport to some, there are some very strong forces that are present when swinging a club and when contacting a ball, that could cause an injury. Add other variables such as hitting a ball below your feet or in the deep rough and there is a high possibility for injury, even in the pros.

At Performance Family Chiropractic we treat many golfers. We treat golfers to help reduce pain, we treat golfers to help prevent pain, and we treat golfers to simply help improve their golf swing. We will not only look at your areas of pain that are present, but we will even look at your golf swing if it is necessary to help you.

We see a variety of injuries in our office that result due to playing golf. Neck pain, elbow pain, back pain and wrist pain are just a few of the common injuries that we see in the office. It is important that a chiropractor who understands golf and plays themself is treating patients with golf injuries. Someone who is familiar with the game will have a better understanding of the game and will have a better understanding of how to treat a golf related injury.

Dr. Justin has a background in golf, having grown up around the sport and having hit many many thousands of balls in his life. He treats many golfers each year and has success getting them out of pain and back onto the course as quickly as possible and to the point where the focus can be on getting lower scores, not just preventing or fixing pain.
